Justin Stoney is the Founder and President of New York Vocal Coaching. He is one of the leading vocal coaches and voice teachers in the music industry today. He’s developed a wide range of artists from beginning singers to celebrity clients, Broadway performers, international recording stars, and private students from over 50 countries. Justin has also helped train many other professional vocal coaches.

Prior to becoming a voice technician, Justin was a performer and musical director after having spent many years studying classical and contemporary vocal training.

Improving The Studio

ShopKeep has reduced errors substantially by helping our teachers easily check a client’s payment and visit history.

Now approaching their 4th year at their spacious midtown Manhattan location, Justin and his team are in high demand. As a result, they’ve had to implement technology systems to help manage their services, accept and track their payments, and stay on top of all of their key business data. Executive Manager, Kelley Young took the lead in this endeavor, in particular, researching extensively and implementing ShopKeep as their point of sale system. “Prior to ShopKeep, we were physically writing down every transaction on paper and on an excel spreadsheet. To accept credit card payments, we were using a basic mobile card reader. As you can imagine, it was difficult going back through our records and referencing a specific transaction, payment method, or customer”, says Young. “ShopKeep has reduced errors substantially by helping our teachers easily check a client’s payment and visit history.”

As a growing service business, NYVC has come to require a more evolved means of tracking important data to help make smart decisions for the business and simplify the payment experience for their clients. “As our staff grew, we continued to gain more clients, so much that we not only needed to track our payments better, but we also needed to provide detailed records for our clients following their sessions. ShopKeep documents our services in detail and we can email them to our students instantly. They love that”, says Kelley. “We love the system and it’s helped us focus on our services and improve our efficiency quite a lot.”
