ShopKeep, a leading tablet to cloud payments and point of sale platform trusted by over 20,000 customer locations, today announced that Michael DeSimone, Chief Executive Officer, will be speaking as the afternoon keynote at ETA’s 2018 TRANSACT Tech New York City. The conference occurs on Tuesday, March 13 at the American Express Tower in Manhattan.
The keynote, entitled “Why owning the merchant’s countertop is critical to success in SMB and Payments,” is scheduled to take place at 3:45pm EST. With total small business technology spending expected to grow to $676 billion by 2021 according to IDC, the opportunity to impact small merchants through the implementation of advanced technology that will help them run their business more efficiently is significant. DeSimone will address the importance of designing software for the small business market, as well as key areas to differentiate and innovate in today’s competitive POS and payments landscape.
DeSimone is a global chief executive, with more than 25 years of experience working within the financial services and technology industry. Prior to joining ShopKeep, Michael was President and CEO of Borderfree, where he was responsible for the overall strategic direction including the company’s transformation from an online currency conversion service to a provider of global ecommerce solutions. He led Borderfree through its successful IPO in 2014 and its sale to Pitney Bowes in 2015.
