Setup for Brick & Mortar Stores

Brick and mortar businesses generally have a fixed location and building. Typically, they have their own internet connection through an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and manage their own network.

Table of Contents

Network Setup

We recommend using a dedicated router with the Lightspeed Retail POS. If your ISP provides a modem/router combination device, put it in “bridge” mode and connect a separate router.

Direct Connection via ISP

  1. Contact your ISP to set up your location for an internet connection.
  2. Set up the provided router for WiFi (Or use our supported Google Wifi).

Networks & Printers

Need to print order tickets? You’ll have to plug your ethernet printer directly into your router. If your router is located far from your printer, use our supported extender pack or 5 port ethernet switchto extend the reach of your ethernet cable.

If you don’t need the ability to print order tickets, simplify setup by using a Bluetooth receipt printer.
