Starting Your Day

Get your day started by having each employee (cashiers and managers) clock-in to record time punches at the register. After everyone’s clocked in, have a manager sign into the register and open a shift to get the register ready for processing sales.

Clocking In

To use the ShopKeep time clock feature, employees should clock in before they start working. All staff, cashiers and managers alike, clock in the same way.

  1. Enter your register code and tap 'Clock In'.

    Check out our Troubleshooting Guide if you have trouble clocking in.

    A pop-up automatically appears to confirm the time punch. Time punches sync to BackOffice with an active internet connection.

    If the time on the pop-up is incorrect, follow the steps here to update the register’s time and time zone.

Signing In

Sign in as a register manager to access the register.

  1. Enter a register manager code and tap 'Sign In'.

Opening the Shift

Before cashiers can run transactions, a manager needs to open the register’s shift. Don’t Forget to close the shift at the end of each day.

  1. Count your drawer's starting cash, enter that amount, and tap 'Open Shift'.

    The opening drawer amount cannot be changed after opening the shift.

  2. Tap 'Transaction' to start ringing sales.

    Or, tap ‘Sign Out’ to allow another user to sign in with their code.
