ShopKeep App Settings Troubleshooting

Here we’ll look at some common issues related to ShopKeep settings located on the iPad.

The customer list pops up automatically when I tender a sale.

The customer list shows up to remind the cashier to tag a customer to the sale and email their receipt. Disable ‘Always email receipt’ to turn off this feature.

  1. Open ShopKeep Settings on the register.
  2. Toggle 'Always email receipt' off.

The register automatically prints a receipt for every transaction.

Disable ‘Always print receipt’ to turn off automatic receipt printing. Cashiers can still manually print receipts for transactions that need them.

How can I stop the customer list from showing full names & emails?

Turn on ‘Mask customer name and email’ to hide customer last names and parts of their email addresses.

  1. Open ShopKeep settings on the register.
  2. Toggle 'Mask customer name and email' on.

Why am I being automatically signed out of the register?

If the register signs out after each sale, disable transaction auto signout in BackOffice. Otherwise, follow these steps on the iPad to turn off timed auto signout.

  1. Open ShopKeep settings on the register.
  2. Toggle 'Auto Sign Out User' off.

Some credit sales do not ask for a customer signature.

A signature threshold prevents sales under a certain amount from requiring a signature. Change or remove this restriction in ShopKeep’s settings.

  1. Open ShopKeep settings on the register.
  2. Tap 'Card signature threshold'.
  3. Select a value between 0 and 25 for the threshold.

    Transactions above this amount will need a customer signature.

Customers are asked to sign for credit sales after I set a signature threshold.

The ‘Card signature threshold’ setting does not apply in certain cases. For example, the setting is not compatible with Clover devices, such as the Clover Mini and Clover Flex. Follow the specific steps below that reflect whether the business uses one of these devices.

  • If using a Clover device:
    1. Set a 'Signature requirement' in the device's payment settings.
    2. Change the BackOffice 'Tips and Signature' setting.

      Signature slips always print for ‘Tip and signature on paper receipt’ to allow customers to leave a tip.

  • If NOT using a Clover device:
    1. Set a higher signature threshold.

      Only sales over the set threshold will require a signature.

    2. Change the BackOffice 'Tips and Signature' setting.
